I'm quite well known as the @aridamerican "The Arid American" on Tiktok which is my biggest platform. I was born in Coahuila, Mexico and was brought to the U.S. at 4 years old, living in an undocumented status for many years, though I am now a U.S. citizen after a decade in the process. I serve in the Army Reserves and live in Alabama, and I got into DNA testing, history, and genealogy August 2020. I completed the Genealogy Principles Course from Boston University's Center for Professional Education.
I am part of a Guachichil descendent group called the Gualiname Guachichiles where we preserve and practice the culture and history to honor our ancestors; my Guachichil name is Juancholoa. I am also in the process of obtaining Portuguese citizenship due to a Sephardic Jewish line, and I can speak Portuguese fluently, making me trilingual. I've helped many people reconnect to their roots whether they are Iberian, indigenous, etc. Genealogy allowed me to find my true roots - finding that knowledge was invaluable and is one of my most meaningful accomplishments. I'm also an award-winning science fiction writer with my debut novel, Golden Skies, ranking 4.5/5 consistently. |
